Jules and David's Wedding at Cley Windmill, North Norfolk

Jules and David got married at the truly unique Cley Windmill in North Norfolk on July 1st.  Named one of the top 50 hotels by The Independent in 2010 the mill dates from the 18th Century and is one of the best known landmarks on the North Norfolk coast.  The sun blazed all day and Cley, the mill and North Norfolk proved again why it is such a special part of the world and an amazing place to get married.

Jules was driven to the ceremony in 'Talula', a classic 1970's VW camper.  Owned by her friends who operate Groovy Campers, a classic VW camper hire company based just up the road in Blakeney, it was the perfect vehicle to match the vintage charm of Cley.

After the ceremony it was on to Wiveton Hall Farm and Cafe, set amongst the fruit trees and pick-your-own strawberry fields between Cley and Blakeney.  Whilst the lone guitarist gently plucked out some soft summer tunes the party tucked into some wonderful looking tapas.  This was a very laid back wedding without all the pomp and ceremony and the evening seemed to drift slowly by like the warm summer breeze blowing across the saltmarsh outside.

With the sun dipping below the pines we finished off the evening with some confetti shots amongst a field of redcurrants.  The confetti bomb was less bomb and more pop but it provided some good entertainment all the same and the redcurrants provided a lovely snack in between shots!

I really can't wait to get back there to shoot another wedding, luckily I don't have to wait too long as I will be photographing Keeley and Charles's wedding there in September.

Here are a few of my favourite shots from the day along with a video. I hope they capture just how special and unique Cley and the North Norfolk coast can be and what a wonderful day I had with Jules and David.

Thanks for looking
