Shoot for the Stars - strictly ballroom with James and Ola Jordan

I was delighted to work alongside Phil Barnes last weekend and photograph two of the stars of Strictly Come Dancing, James and Ola Jordan.  Ola was the 2009 Strictly champion, a fact she likes to remind her husband and dance partner James of at every possible opportunity.  They enthralled the audience with some of the quickest latin dancing the sleepy Norfolk town of Wymondham (said Windham for you out-of-towners!) is ever likely to see.

As well as photograph the stars strutting their stuff Phil and myself shot a meet and greet session, with James and Ola signing autographs, chatting with guests and posing for individual photos. We printed photos on site enabling the guests to take home a wonderful memento of their night with the Strictly Stars.

The event was held in the recently refurbished Wymondham Central Hall and was organised by dance instructor Donna Poole

Special thanks must go to my ever supportive partner Vicky and her mum Elaine whose help was invaluable on the night.

Here are a few choice shots from the night, a couple of embarrassing ones of me in James's arms might make the blog tomorrow night - watch this space!

Photographing professional dancers in very low light is quite a challenge

Then again they strike some wonderful poses

It might not have been a competition but you wouldn't have known it

James and Ola specialise in Latin dancing, both of them winning many prestigious awards over the years

Their routines had it all including some impressive lifts

Ola seemed to enjoy this part of the Q and A session, I think she was reminding James about the time she won Strictly Come Dancing!

Everyone in the audience had ringside seats and could enjoy the performance up close

Performing four show dances Ola changed outfit for each one, an impressive feat in itself!

Keeping up with them as they covered the dance floor involved many hundreds of photos being taken

James and Ola take the warm applause from the audience
